The Yokai Handbook is a product of a workshop I organized at the lovely Handsawpress in Tokyo. The 24 participants explored the wonderful world of yokai (Japanese phantoms). Japanese yokai are a lot more playful and diverse than their European ghost cousins. We told stories, created creatures and collected our yokai knowledge in a handbook.
